The Help to Buy scheme can help you to buy a brand new home with only a 5% deposit. The Scottish Government provides you with up to a 15% equity loan. Security over your home is required. Your mortgage lender's deposit requirements will vary, but you should usually expect to contribute a deposit of at least 5% of the purchase price. Available on selected properties, and subject to the government's specific terms, conditions and qualifying criteria. Open Market Shared Equity (OMSE)

The Open Market Shared Equity Scheme helps people who want to buy a home on the open market but are unable to meet the full price. The scheme is available to first-time buyers and other priority group applicants. Eligible applicants can receive between 10% and 40% toward the purchase price of a property that has been advertised on the open market.
